Work Experience Placements 2010

If you are hard working, flexible and willing to try any of a range of jobs that occur at a busy holiday riding centre, we may have a place for you!

We are now looking for students, enthusiasts and work experience people to join our team for the 2010 season. We have up to 40 horses and ponies here at Brenfield at the height of our season and will be running around 16 full trails and many shorter holidays from April to October 2010.

Duties range from mucking out and horse care, to looking after clients, both adults and children, of all nationalities, to weeding the garden and walking the dogs, to washing the dishes and cleaning windows, to exercising the horses and repairing fences!

Brenfield was originally a working farm, and as such the buildings are old and need maintained and "spruced up" regularly. So paintbrushes are a common sight and if you have any general maintenance or joinery experience then it will not be wasted. A willingness to learn and to help with anything counts for a lot though!

Depending on your riding ability and general manner with our clients, there may be the opportunity to join in on some of the longer trails as an assistant to the ride leader and to lead shorter rides back at the centre, with the potential of gaining BHS and FITE British Equestrian Tourism qualifications.

You will receive board and lodging and the opportunity to share in recreational events such as BBQ's and Ceilidh's (Scottish folk dancing) often held in the barn or the picnic area at Brenfield. You will gain an immense amount of valuable experience with top quality horses, and enjoy the stunning beauty of Scotland's spectacular scenery.

If you would like more information, or if you would like to apply for one of our positions, then please contact us with a current resume/CV and a recent photograph.

We ask that you plan to stay with us for a minimum of 3 months, and we have a rigorous policy of NO smoking anywhere on the premises.
