About Brenfield

Brenfield Farm and Estate is the home of Argyll Trail Riding and Castle Riding Centre. Established over 25 years ago by expert horsewoman, Tove Gray-Stephens, Brenfield is one of the leading trail and riding holiday centres in the United Kingdom, and has the deserved reputation for providing the most enjoyable and memorable holidays set in some of the most spectacular scenery in Britain if not the world!

Norwegian born Tove and her son David Hay-Thorburn run the riding centre and trails. Tove is well known as an international BHS TREC trainer and judge, and David was the BHS TREC World Champion in 2000, and the BHS TREC British Champion of 2008.

At Brenfield we take great pride in our history and culture, the beauty of the unspoiled highland landscapes, sparkling lochs and rivers, heather clad hills and long sandy beaches. We also take pride in looking after our visitors, and do our best to offer the riding that you want to do, be it a short hack into the hills for an hour or two, or a full weeks trail ride through the heart of the West Highlands.

There’s something for everyone here. Experienced or not, you can enjoy the excitement of riding through breathtaking scenery on our strong and reliable horses and ponies.
